Kay + Ari - Wedding at the DAR House

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

Kay and Ari were married on a beautiful March day. I don’t get to say that too often. Their wedding and reception were at the Daughters of the American Revolution chapter house on Capital Hill. It’s a beautiful old house filled with antiques. The ceremony was done by Pat of A Heavenly Ceremony. You can see their slideshow here.

SOS Dinner!

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

I had the great pleasure of photographing a fundraising dinner for Share Our Strength. This is not your average fundraising dinner, however. The dinner was at the Herbfarm in Woodinville, which is the only five star restaurant in the Seattle area, and then added guest chefs from Seattle and around the country! The great thing about it is that the proceeds go to feed hungry children here in the United States. Below are a few of the images.

Q: What suggestions do you have for a bride that is choosing a venue?
A: I always tell my brides to select a few things that are the most important to them (venue, food, flowers, photography, etc.) and then focus the most time and money on those things. Everything else they should put at the end of their list and consider cutting corners. I also tell them to find a venue that they feel comfortable and relaxed at otherwise they will only be increasing the amount of stress they will feel on their wedding day.

Q: What do you charge?
A: $500 Gazebo rental fee; $1,500 Sammamish Ballroom rental fee; food & beverage minimums vary depending on date.
